Eligibility & Requirements for Mentors
Core Requirements
Resides in Teton County minimum 6 months/year for mentor meeting scheduling purposes*
Commits ~3 hours monthly at minimum:
Mentors on at least one team (two teams is suggested and encouraged)
Prioritizes attending the first meeting of a newly established mentor team in-person
Prioritizes and attends Mentor Luncheons (4 of 5 annually required)
Accepts team assignments outside industry expertise. Understands that general strategic business advice applies to any and every team.
Willingness to become Lead Mentor on a mentor team after 6 months
Willingness to learn and use mentor program software
Timely response to staff for scheduling and other outreach needs
Professional Qualifications
Must meet 2 of 4 criteria:
At least 5 years of corporate or nonprofit leadership experience
At least 5 years of experience as a founder or early employee at a start-up
At least 5 years of deep financial experience
At least 5 years of expert knowledge in a specific area that is relevant to business and/or start-ups

Focuses on guiding mentee through questions rather than providing all the answers
Aligns with Silicon Couloir's "Profit. People. Planet." principle
Mentor Specialist Role (separate from Mentor role)
Available for mentorship on as-needed basis in a specific area of expertise
Flexible meeting format (in-person/virtual)
Priority attendance at Mentor Luncheons when in region
*Note: Scheduling is the most challenging component of this program. Thus, unresponsive mentors, unavailable mentors, or mentors who travel frequently may be asked to pause participation until more available.
