Silicon Couloir Welcomes Eight New Outstanding
Board Members

 

Silicon Couloir, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering entrepreneurship in the Tetons and beyond, announces the appointment of eight distinguished new members to its Board of Directors: Arthur Baines, Michael Coles, Kevin Deneen, Lindsey Kneuven, Mark Ladd, James Mazzarisi, Flavia Naves, and Jason Ochs.

“We’re honored to welcome these exceptional leaders to our board,” said Rob Kellogg, Executive Director of Silicon Couloir. “Their diverse experience and unwavering commitment to our community will play a vital role in advancing our mission and expanding the impact of entrepreneurship throughout the Teton region and beyond.”

The new board members bring extensive experience in economics, investment, law, finance, technology, business development, and nonprofit leadership. 
 

Arthur Baines is an economist and has more than 30 years of diversified business, economic, and quantitative analysis experience. He was a partner in the Financial Services practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers and led the Financial Economics practice at Charles River Associates. 

He is a leading expert in the regulatory analytics of consumer finance, small business lending, and the retail automotive industry and has written and testified extensively on related issues. Mr. Baines has assisted numerous financial institutions and lenders design and implement quantitative fair lending monitoring programs, including the use of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning techniques. 

Arthur began volunteering as a Mentor in the SC Teams program in 2022, and recently served as chair of the SC admissions committee.
 

Michael Coles is a transformational leader, accomplished entrepreneur, author, and motivational speaker. He co-founded the Great American Cookie Company in 1977 with just $8,000. Shortly after, a near-fatal motorcycle accident left him with a grim prognosis, but through a self-designed rehab program, he recovered and built the business into a national brand, all while setting three U.S. transcontinental cycling records.

In 2003, he became Chairman, CEO, and President of Caribou Coffee, more than doubling its size and taking it public on NASDAQ. Appointed by Governor Roy Barnes to chair Georgia’s Film, Video and Music Advisory Board, he helped pass the state’s first film tax incentive, sparking an industry now worth over $12 billion annually.

Michael also co-founded and chaired Charter Bank & Trust, later sold to Synovus. He now chairs PAWS and serves on the St. John’s Health Foundation board. He lives in Jackson Hole with his wife, Donna, and has three children and seven grandchildren.
 

Kevin Deneen is the CEO and co-founder of Moterra Campervans, the national leader in luxury campervan rentals and curator of adventure-focused travel experiences. Moterra was founded and remains based in Jackson, WY, but now operates in 7 states with hubs adjacent to our nation's premier National Parks and outdoor adventure destinations.

Prior to founding Moterra, he spent more than a decade in venture capital supporting world-class teams developing innovative solutions in the energy, industrial, and climate ecosystems. Most recently, he was part of the founding investment team at SE Ventures ($1bn+ AUM). Prior to that, he worked for several large European investment firms and spent the first part of his career in Zurich, Switzerland.

A Colorado native, Kevin has been lucky to live and adventure in many beautiful places throughout the Rocky Mountains, the Swiss Alps, the Desert Southwest, Alaska’s Kenai Peninsula, and along the West Coast. He is trained as a Wilderness First Responder.

 

Lindsey Kneuven is a systems-change practitioner with over 20 years of experience at the intersection of business, education, technology, and global development. She is the founder and CEO of Pure Impact, a consultancy helping individuals, families, and companies drive meaningful change through community-led solutions. Formerly Chief Impact Officer at Pluralsight, she launched and led Pluralsight One, a $40M initiative advancing education equity. She also served as Chief Impact Officer at Cotopaxi, where she pioneered an integrated impact model within a venture-backed Public Benefit Corporation.

 Lindsey has held leadership roles at Salesforce Foundation, Silicon Valley Community Foundation, and Nuru International, where she lived in rural Kenya designing literacy programs. Her work spans global grantmaking, purpose-driven supply chains, and philanthropic strategy for Fortune 500s. She has earned multiple honors, serves on several boards, and is a respected voice in global philanthropy and social innovation. Lindsey’s work is grounded in humility, partnership, humanity, and long-term commitment to systems change.
 

Mark J. Ladd has over 30 years of management experience leading design and technical innovation for large multi-national design and emerging companies.  Mark's extensive experience has led to a track record of nurturing and investing in next-generation systems and scalable technologies. He has been an invited speaker at TEDx, SXSW, Augmented World Expo, and numerous others.

Formerly an architect with SOM, as well as tech hardware founder, Mark is currently the CEO of Malex Holdings which encompasses the venture capital and private equity investment entities of Ladditude Ventures and Malex Enterprises, as well as the real estate investment fund of Monarch Equities.
 

James Mazzarisi is a results-oriented, versatile, trusted executive and leader with over 25 years of broad experience in relationship management, CRE lending, private banking, structured capital, and wealth management. 

As a key member of the Integra/Tanager executive team, he drives the Bank's revenue growth through strategic oversight of sales and business development.

Throughout his career, James has built a strong track record of cultivating and managing relationships with high-net-worth and sophisticated clients. He has successfully structured solutions for residential, construction, CRE and multifamily transactions ranging from $5 million to $350 million.

James is a CFA Charterholder and holds an MBA in Finance.
 

A seasoned in-house counsel who has supported companies at all stages of expansion and development, Flavia Naves is a legal and compliance executive with valuable expertise in strategic planning and operations of financial services businesses. Known for her entrepreneurial vision, resourcefulness, and ability to quickly pivot, Flavia has extensive relationships with numerous top firms in the banking, money transmission and payments industries, and regularly practices before state and federal banking departments and agencies.

Flavia is Of Counsel at the Cheyenne-based law firm of Hathaway & Kunz, where she advises companies on corporate and licensing matters, and has been appointed a Commissioner with the State of Wyoming to its Stable Token Commission. Flavia has previously held key positions at industry giants like Circle, Intuit, and Worldpay. Flavia obtained her legal degree from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais and a certificate of US legal studies from Widener University Commonwealth Law School.
 

Jason Ochs is a seasoned trial attorney based in Jackson, Wyoming, with over two decades of experience in complex civil litigation. As Managing Partner of Ochs Law Firm since 2012, he has led high-profile cases involving personal injury, wrongful death, class actions, and product liability, including major national litigations like the Opioid MDL, Juul, and Johnson & Johnson Talcum Powder cases. He is licensed in six states, including Wyoming, California, and Colorado.

Beyond his legal work, Jason is committed to public service. He currently serves as President of the Teton County Bar Association, Vice President of the Colorado Chautauqua Cottagers, and a board member of the Wyoming State Bar Wellness Committee. Jason brings a wealth of knowledge and a strong entrepreneurial spirit to his endeavors. His business acumen and commitment to fostering growth make him an excellent addition to a board focused on assisting young entrepreneurs. Jason lives in Jackson with his wife, Meredith, and their two sons, Winston and Wyatt, both students at Jackson Hole High School.


Silicon Couloir continues to strengthen its mission of empowering entrepreneurship to create a healthy, vibrant community in the Teton region and beyond. The addition of these new board members reflects the organization's commitment to bringing together diverse talents and experiences to support local entrepreneurs.
