TEAMS Currently Accepting Applications for Mentors and Ventures

Silicon Couloir is pleased to announce the TEAMS (Teton Entrepreneurs and Mentors Service) program is accepting additional entrepreneurs and mentors, following the completion of the pilot phase of the program.

TEAMS is a Silicon Couloir program formed to accelerate the development of entrepreneurs in the Teton region, and further the mission of Silicon Couloir: to align entrepreneurship with community vision to promote a diverse economy and healthy environment for current and future generations. TEAMS is powered by volunteer mentors who are excited by innovation, ideas and problem-solving for ventures. Mentors are overseen and supported in their role by the Silicon Couloir staff and an executive team of mentors.

David Hopkins, a TEAMS mentor, Silicon Couloir Trustee and experienced management consultant, offered the following during Silicon Couloir’s October Chance Meeting: “It (TEAMS) really is focused on making the entrepreneurs the best they can be.  Coming into this mentorship program, having experience in mentorship, what struck me as a huge compliment to this community is that the further you are away from all the resources that we take for granted in New York or Silicon Valley, the more tenacious the entrepreneurs here have been.  That’s a huge compliment, not only to the existing entrepreneurs but also to those who may be thinking of starting a business. If there’s a headline you want to take away from that: “There Are No Barriers,” just because you live in Jackson Hole. The mentors, the ventures themselves, and Silicon Couloir are here to support whatever it is you need to do.”

Illustrating Hopkins’ point, Extherid Biosciences was selected for the Goldman Sachs 10000 small businesses program this fall. Says founder Marnie Peterson, “ I wouldn’t have been in the position to take this on without the mentoring/support I have received from TEAMS. The  program has helped grow my business in multiple ways.”

Silicon Couloir is actively recruiting new mentors. The commitment is our monthly mentor meeting and participation on at least one mentoring team. Training and ongoing support are provided.

We are also accepting applications for founders and entrepreneurs interested in joining the TEAMS program. You can learn more and sign up at https://www.siliconcouloir.com/teams/.
